    Default Epson sx405 issues

    Hi guys/gals

the above printer has been giving me a so much bother, since ive had it (xmas time) ive had to replace about 5 sets of inks due to the fact the printer always tells me there is a compatabilty issues with the inks. ive tryd both epson and aftermarket inks in it but still tells me the same thing!!!
whilst this message is displayed it wont print, ive compared it with another and that says "do you want to continue using none gen inks " you then tick the box and away it goes.....

anyone else come across this issue???

    thanks

Yea.. I have nothing but canon printers.. I used to have all epson.. but I slowly switched..

I try not to print out too much on the printer.. because I think it cost more than just sending it out to a lab...

Here in vegas. there are a million places that can make 8x10.. So I can send the prints out to the digital photo lab.. and with in an hour I can have the prints.

Ohh.. another thing.. I used to teach computer at the local college.. and that is how a lot of companies make there money.

I mean really they don't make any money from selling a 100 dollar printer.. However if they can sell ink for 30 dollars a pop..then they are making a ton of money.. it cost very little to make, very little to ship, and the profit is huge for ink

totally agree there, printer cost me in the christmas period £80.00 and the inks cost£40.00 per set, so simple math shows 2 sets of inks are the same as what the printer cost me!!

i did go out to a local retailer yesterday and managed to pick up 3 sets of aftermarket inks for £19.00 (bargain) and they WORK!!

well I used to print my own cd/dvds and for a while when I was using the epson printer it was cheaper for me to go and buy a new printer than all new ink.. so I was doing that.. every month I would buy a new printer for about 50$.. and the ink would come wiht it ( which if I bought the ink with out the printer would be 56$)
